Coronaviruses are a large group of viruses that are common among animals. They are also called zoonotic as sometimes they can be transferred from animals to humans. Coronavirus has a tendency to spread much like cold viruses. It impacts your nose, sinuses, or upper throat causing problems to breathe.
The reason why Coronavirus is considered dangerous because it can live in your body unknowingly. It takes a period of 7 days to one month to be recognized and until then it can cause us to suffer. The symptoms include runny nose, cough, sore throat, headache, and also fever. This virus is less severe than SARS and MERS and takes time to develop symptoms. But it has stayed longer than both. WHO has termed this virus a pandemic as it has infected more than 3 million people worldwide.
The virus originated from a small seafood market in Wuhan in early December’19. The market was a trade center for birds, animals, rabbits, and snakes. It was believed that the virus evolved from a snake but later the researchers found out that the bat was responsible for the virus. At the initial stages, China took it as normal pneumonia but when it became untreatable and the virus started losing its control, China started taking measures to prevent it. After China, Italy became the epicenter of the virus and now it has impacted people and the economy globally. Currently, none of the scientists has been able to find out the vaccine for the virus but the work is in progress. The doctors said they might take a year to come with medicine for this virus.
The Virus can spread through human contact with animals and can also travel from human to human. It spreads when an infected person coughs or sneezes and the droplets reach another person. If the infected person shakes hands with another person, he can transmit the disease to him. It’s also recommended not to touch your hands and mouth frequently because this virus travels to your body through the nose or mouth. It impacts people with a weak immune system. At first, it was reported that the virus is dangerous for the old and they have no chances to survive if the virus hits them but now it’s the same for everyone. The younger ones have the chance to recover and the older ones might fall to Coronavirus.
As there’s no vaccine yet to treat the virus, so social distancing is the only solution. In all countries, the government has banned public places, transport, and asked people to isolate them in their homes. Although the virus has impacted the economy on a large scale, due to the shortage of vaccines, the people are strictly advised to stay at homes and keep washing hands. You should also keep your immune system stronger by drinking plenty of fluids, eating fruits and vegetables, and taking enough sleep. Until the researchers come with the solution, WHO has strictly asked people to follow the prevention guidelines in which social distancing is a must.
